V-J DAY IN TIME SQUARE
New York City, on August 14, 1945.
THE KISS
This is hands down absolutely one
of my all time favorite images, there’s been so much controversy regarding this
image over the years and whether it was staged or set up. Quite frankly I
really don’t care I love this image and everything it stands for, what it
captures, the passion, the moment, the mystery its absolutely stunning. People
see this image and ultimately just feel happy its truly a work of art and for
that I applaud the photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt. Throughout my several years in grade school,
visiting public places, etc., I have seen this image posted proudly on the wall
for everyone to see in several of these places throughout the years and to me
that means something, this is an inspirational image nothing but joy could be
provoked from this image. Even the lack of color in this image is beautiful
there is absolutely nothing about it that I would change. A man, a woman, a kiss, a
happy beautiful passionate moment to celebrate on one of our great American
moments in history. If I was ever given the opportunity I would thank this man
for either capturing this beautiful moment or creating it to share with the
world.
